Minnesota: Lucky takes a stand for his dad (Fends off vandals)

When a man tried to damage a life-size photo of Tiger Jack outside the family store at St. Anthony Avenue and Dale Street in St. Paul on Wednesday night, Lucky Rosenbloom took a stand.

“That pissed me off, obviously,” said Rosenbloom, who was sitting outside, waving at passersby as his late father did and listening to gospel music. “That’s the only thing I’ve got of my dad. Some people walk up and kiss it, hug it. … (He was) actually trying to tear it up.”

Rosenbloom said he believed the man, later identified as Jason Leroy Campbell, was disrespecting his father, him and the message on the photo — “Honk for Christ.”

Still, Rosenbloom said he remained calm and asked Campbell and a man with him, “What are you doing? Don’t be doing that.” The men walked toward him — “Body language said they were in attack mode, so I went in defense mode quickly,” said Rosenbloom, who teaches self-defense.
